The day we stepped into the light

Summer Solstice 2026

Every year around Summer Solstice, we come together to celebrate the longest day of the year. We love gathering at this time because it invites us to pause, reflect, connect and celebrate. As the days reach their peak of light and the power of the sun reminds us of our own expansiveness, it's a chance to ask ourselves: Where in my own life am I ready to be seen more?

This year's theme was exactly that: Stepping into the Light.

We reflected on questions like:

• What am I holding back?
• What would it take to show up more fully as myself?

Many of us carry dreams, ideas or parts of ourselves that stay in the background. Sometimes it's because we're waiting for the right moment. Sometimes it's because we don't quite feel ready. Together, we created a sacred space where we could explore those parts with curiosity and honesty - and gently bring them into the light.

From the afternoon until late in the evening, we spent time together in nature at Arken in Vestamager - a witchy, ship-like structure built from rocks and wood and surrounded by wild nature.

Throughout the day, we moved between moments of reflection and connection. We began with a silent walk through nature and journaling before getting creative together by making dream catchers. We shared a potluck dinner, gathered in circle to listen and share, sang, danced, and ended the evening around a bonfire. During a fire ritual, we reflected on what we wanted to let go of and symbolically burned it, creating space for what we wanted to invite into our lives.

What stood out most wasn't any single activity - it was the feeling of being together. There was space to be quiet, to laugh, to move freely, to reflect and to be witnessed by a group of women doing the same. Every woman brought something unique, and together we created a day that felt both grounding and uplifting.

Fifteen women joined this year's Summer Solstice gathering, and we're grateful to everyone who helped co-create it. A special thank you goes to Ieva and Yvette, two community members who recently stepped up to practice holding space within our community. They did an amazing job, and you'll likely see more of them at future gatherings.
